Are there moving trucks available to use?
Point Richmond Self Storage offers a free truck for use during your move-in. Contact us for reservations and unit availability.
Can I buy boxes and other packing products from Point Richmond Self Storage?
Yes. Point Richmond Self Storage facility offers a wide variety of boxes and packing supplies.
What does "on-site" manager mean?
"On-site" manager means that an employee, usually the Facility Manager, lives in the apartment on-site as part of the facility.
Do you have moving carts available?
Point Richmond Self Storage has inside units with access through a hallway. We maintain an inventory of "push carts" that may be used free of charge. If you find yourself renting an inside unit and need a push cart, please let the Facility Manager know and they will be happy to assist you.
Do you have video cameras?
Point Richmond Self Storage uses video cameras as a security measure. Cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and other areas around the facility.
Can anybody drive onto this property or do you need a PIN number?
Our facilities utilize an electronic gate system which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. The code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.
What is a roll-up door?
Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.
Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?
You can purchase a new lock in the office at the Point Richmond Self Storage facility. We offer a variety of sizes and types of locks and recommend purchasing a disc lock to ensure the highest level of security.
Do you offer RV/boat/car/motorcycle parking?
Point Richmond Self Storage offers parking for RVs, boats, cars, motorcycles and jet skis.
What is a drive-up unit?
A drive-up unit is an outside ground-floor unit that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck.
What's the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The office hours are the hours of operation for the office located on the property. During these hours the Facility Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The gate hours are the hours the facility is open and your unit can be accessed. If you require access outside of our standard gate hours ask your Facility Manager for information about 24-hour access.
How far in advance can I book a reservation?
We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 30 days in advance to help you plan ahead.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
An outdoor unit has access from outside. An indoor unit is within the property and will require you to go inside to access your unit.
What kind of security do you have?
Point Richmond Self Storage takes great pride in protecting your belongings and strives to provide state-of-the-art security. We feature an electronic gate with coded access, monitored video surveillance, fenced and well-lit facilities, individual door alarms and personal locks available for purchase. Please contact the Facility Manager for details about a specific location.
What are the payment terms?
Point Richmond Self Storage strives to make your storage experience as hassle free as possible, including paying your bill. Typically, our leases are month-to-month but we also offer the flexibility of long-term leases. We also offer AutoPay and can automatically charge your Mastercard®, Visa®, Discover®, or American Express® each month.
Does Point Richmond Self Storage accept credit cards?
We accept several major credit cards, including MasterCard®, Visa®, Discover®, or American Express®.
What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?
We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Our unit sizes primarily range from 3’ x 4’ (12 square feet) to 10’ x 32’ (320 square feet). Additionally, we offer twelve odd sized units with total square footage that ranges between 338 square feet to 1,016 square feet. Determining the right size is easy with the help of our Facility Managers who are trained to assist you in this process. To determine the sizes available, please contact the Facility Manager.
Can you provide me with a rough idea as to what will fit in which size unit?
Whether you need to store boxes, furniture or business inventory, Point Richmond Self Storage has room for your belongings. We offer 3’ x 4’ storage lockers along with standard unit sizes that range from 5' x 5' to 10' x 32', with an average ceiling height of 10 feet. The guide below to help determine the appropriate size for your storage needs.

- Fill boxes to capacity to prevent tipping and collapse
- Do not use newsprint to wrap goods that can be damaged by ink stains
